There is a freezer in the loading area for Hawks Nest residents to store your bait. We strongly recommend all articles be labeled with your name or unit and week number.

Please do not hang clothing or towels over the balcony railings. They will dry hanging over the back of the chairs on the balcony.

On a first come first serve basis. Please check bicycles out at office. If you brought your own, please DO NOT take them into the rooms, there is a rack to store them.

Assorted board games may be borrowed out of the game room. ‘Please be sure all game pieces are back in the box before returning to game room.

Several of the area restaurant menus are in the office to help you with your dining choices.

Sombrero Reef, Washerwoman’s Shoal, Molasses Key and many more great locations. There are pamphlets located in the office for many of the area charter captains and party boats. Both provide all the equipment and bait you will need. Some of the bait shops have fishing gear available for rent if you want to find your own special fishing spot. Fishing license is required for all fishing except on the charter and party boats. It can be purchased at most bait shops, Ace Hardware, and K-Mart Sports Dept. Fishing locations are: Seven Mile Bridge, South Side of Reef-trolling or Washerwoman’s Shoal. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE TOWELS IN YOUR ROOM FOR FISHING. THE ODOR AND STAINS CANNOT BE REMOVED. THE HOUSEKEEPERS Will BE HAPPY TO GIVE YOU OLD TOWELS TO USE.

Fishing off the dock is permitted and recommended. Please dispose of monofilament line carefully and clean area after use. Dispose of your discarded bait and catch properly. Feeding the pelicans and birds is discouraged for their own protection. Diving, swimming and snorkeling are discouraged without a dive flag appropriately displayed, as this area has heavy boat traffic. Caution is advised at all times. Dock lighting is available by a switch located on the tiki support.

All fresh water in the Florida Keys is piped from the mainland making it very expensive. We ask you to please be conservative.

Hours 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

To operate: open lid! turn both temperature dials to high, both burners will turn on from the automatic pilot. Turn temperature knob to desired temperature for cooking. DO NOT use charcoal or lighter fluid. Please clean cooking grate with the wire brush after use, and turn off lights near the grill.

Machine located in screen room. Please be considerate of others and take only what you really need. And PLEASE do not leave the scoop inside the machine, as it gets buried under the new ice.

Hours: Dawn to 10:00 p.m. Please use soap and shower before entering, especially if you are wearing suntan oil or lotion. No children under the age of 14, without adult present at the jacuzzi to supervise, and no babies in diapers. The water temperature is 102 degrees, and it doesn’t take long to raise a small child’s body temperature to dangerous levels; a temperature of 102 degrees can send a child into convulsions. Please use extreme caution allowing children into jacuzzi. Health Department recommends use be limited to 15-minute intervals.

Located to the right of the elevator entrance on the main floor. These facilities can be accessed 24 hours a day. Vending size boxes of Tide and Clorox 2 are available for purchase in the office.

Located in the game room. Please feel free to borrow a book! or donate any that you may have read.

Regular postal pick-up is made at the office. Stamps may be purchased at office.

Hours: Dawn to 10:00 p.m. Please use soap and shower before entering, especially if you are wearing suntan oil or lotion. Beach towels are available in your room. They can be exchanged in the office. No snorkel, fins or scuba gear may be used in pool.

Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 12 :00 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Two boats are available for rental on a half day or full day basis during the hours listed above. Please check with the office for rental rates. Reservations taken one day in advance at office. Late returns will be billed at the rate of $5.00 for each 15 minutes past scheduled return time.

Condominium by-laws do not allow parking of trailers or boats inside Hawks Nest parking lot. The area in front of the tennis court has been cleared for that purpose. Boats cannot be docked at Hawks Nest except for short periods to load/unload, and cannot conflict with dockage of the Hawks Nest rental boats. Knight’s Key Campground does rent dock space upon availability.

To control odor and insects, please empty your trash daily. The trash room is located between rooms 01 & 02 on each floor. Tie your trash bags securely and do not throw loose trash down the chute. If you need additional trash bags please ask your housekeeper. Recycle bins are located by the bait freezer for: aluminium cans; clear, brown, and green glass; newspaper; plastic bottles. Sewage waste from Hawks Nest must be disposed of in a unique way. Do not pour cooking oil/grease and chemicals down the toilets and drains. Make use of sanitary disposal bags provided in each bathroom.

This area is available for all residents. Ping-pong and pool tables are located in the screen room. Paddles, balls, and chalk are available through the office.

Smoking is prohibited anywhere in the building, including the balconies, as well as pool area. Smoking is prohibited within the fenced in area around the pool or in the pool or spa. Smoking is also prohibited in the gravel area from the west pool fence to the west side of the fishing dock. In addition to other potential penalties, the cost of ridding the unit of smoking related odors and stains will be assessed against the unit owner should smoking take place inside your unit.

For security and privacy a combination lock has been placed on the tennis court gate. See office for combination. Please lock after use. As a courtesy to other players, please limit matches to one-hour intervals. Please do not wear street shoes on the court. Basketball is available in office.
